EXHIBITOR INFORMATION

1. Insurance
All exhibitors must provide with entries insurance company name, policy number, expiry date and proof of at least $2 million liability coverage.

2. Stalls
Box Stalls. No stall fees. State on entry form number of stalls required. Priority will be given to stalls for horses or ponies - tack stalls will only be available if there are extra stalls not required for horses or ponies. The number of stalls are limited, please order early. Shavings not provided. Stalls will be available Friday at 3:00 pm and must be vacated by not later than Saturday night at midnight. ALL STALLS MUST BE LEFT CLEAN OF ALL BEDDING AND MANURE - FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN A DEDUCTION FROM PRIZE MONEY OF $50.00 PER STALL.

3. Parking
All trucks and trailers must enter the grounds by Gate # 6 off of Huntley Road. Due to limited space on the grounds, car parking will be limited to fair board, handicap and assigned permit holders only. Vehicle and handicap parking will be available in Lion's Park parking lot by entrance off Huntley Road and in a lot at the corner of Huntley Road and Perth Street. Vehicles on the grounds without proper permits will be towed at the expense of the owner.

4. Entry Forms
Online entries available at www.richmondfair.ca. Entries must be received by the deadline date. Animals and rider/drive to be named when making entries.

5. Interference at Show
Any outside interference from the rail which interferes with the performance of another exhibitor entry will result in the immediate disqualification of the exhibitor connected to the incident. This ruling will be enforced at the discretion of the Ring Steward.

6. Cross Entries
With the exception of the Open Division(s), horses or ponies must show only in one division. There is no cross-entering.

7. Stake Classes
To be eligible for Stake Classes, horses or ponies must have been entered, shown and judged in at least one other performance section in their division with the exception of the Junior Hackney Horse or Pony.

8. Prize Money
Prize money is as follows unless stated otherwise:
Single, Saddle & Children's - 1st $60; 2nd $48; 3rd $32; 4th $20; 5th $12; 6th $8.00
Antique Vehicle - 1st $90; 2nd $70; 3rd $50; 4th $30; 5th $30; 6th $20

7 Open English Pleasure Horse. To be shown under saddle seat attire, at a walk, normal trot, strong trot and canter, judged on manners, performance and conformation.

9 Open Command Class. Riders may be worked at any gait requested by the judge, and may be asked to execute a pattern and/or perform other appropriate tests.

OPEN/PLEASURE DRIVING DIVISION (Open to all light breeds excluding hackneys)
Class:
14 Open Pleasure Driving Reinsmanship. Open to any breed of horse, pony or team and suitable 2 or 4 wheeled carriage driving vehicle excluding wire wheels. Drivers may be worked at any gait requested by the judge ,and may be asked to execute a figure of eight and/or perform other appropriate tests.
40 Open Pleasure Driving. Open to any breed of horse, pony or team and suitable 2 or 4 wheeled carriage driving vehicle excluding wire wheels. Entries will be judged primarily on the performance and quality of each turnout.
56 Open Pleasure Driving Stake, must be shown in Class 14 or 40

CHILDREN’S DIVISION (Open to youth under 18 years as of January 1st of the current year - no stallions)
Class:
3 Junior Showmanship at Halter, horse or pony (Hackneys are excluded)
11 Walk/Trot, English or Western. Riders not eligible for Class 15, 31 or 42.
15 Three-Gated Saddle Pony Open
31 Lead Line (child 8 years and under). Children may ride or drive. To be judged at a walk only. Rider/Driver must be able to sit in the saddle/cart and hold the reins without help. No stallions. Horse or Ponies. Riders not eligible for Class 11, 15 or 42.
42 Three-Gained Saddle Pony Stake
37 Parade Pony
49 Parade Pony Stake, must show in Class 37

CHS Junior Exhibitor Classes

Open to all registered Hackneys (Mare or gelding), suitable to be exhibited by a junior. To have long mane and tail, or braided mane and short tail, or cob tail. Exhibitor or member or his immediate family must be a member of the CHS. Cross entries permitted. To be judged on manners, quality of the animal and the handlers ability, 50% exhibitor ability, 50% for the suitability of the animal.

Class:
1 CHS Junior Showmanship, horse or pony. Shown in hand by Junior Exhibitor.
28 Canadian Hackney Society Junior Exhibitor Roadster Pony. To be shown to a suitable 2-wheeled road cart/sulky. To be shown at a jog, road gait and drive on. Helmets are mandatory for all ages 14 and under and are strongly recommended but optional for juniors over 14 years of age. This is a qualifying class for the roadster pony stake.
32 CHS Junior Exhibitor Pleasure Driving. To be shown at a flat walk, pleasure trot and road trot. This class is a qualifier for the hackney pleasure pony stake class.
60 CHS Junior Driving, horse or pony, driven by a Junior Exhibitor. To be shown to a suitable 4- wheeled vehicle. This is not a qualifying class for the stake.
