The Richmond Agricultural Society has received many comments from friends and patrons of the Richmond Fair in response to some of the changes that have been implemented for the 2016 Richmond Fair. We would like to thank everyone for their interest and support. Without you, we would not have a Fair. Our largest and most popular attraction, The Demolition Derby has been moved to THURSDAY evening, starting at 7 pm. This change has been made due to public safety concerns. Friday evenings are busy, crowded and often, this leads to issues with crowd control. Our main goal, is to provide an atmosphere that is family friendly and fun. We hope having our Demo Derby on Thursday night will help us achieve this goal.
Another prominent concern has been our restriction allowing bags and backpacks onto the Fair Grounds. We would like to clarify this misconception. Parents with children WILL be allowed to bring bags and backpacks onto the grounds. We know coming to the Fair sometimes requires parents to bring many items, and the best way to do that is to bring a bag or backpack. The Richmond Fair has experienced increased occurences of underaged drinking on the grounds. Our efforts to reduce this liability has required the Richmond Fair to implement new measures aimed at eliminating this issue. The Richmond Fair will not "hold" bags or backpacks at the gate.
Regular admission prices will now be charged at the gate on Thursday night. The Richmond Fair is a not-for-profit community organization which requires funds to operate. However, in an effort to keep our Fair affordable, we will charge the same gate admission prices that we have charged for the past two years. Toonie Night will run as usual on Thursday night on the Midway.
All daytime arena entertainment free with gate admission.
Arena entertainment tickets include free gate admission for the date of the show.
